Booking & Policies
Please read all policies before sending a booking request. You can browse flash on my Available Designs page. Other tattoos I have done are on my Past Works page.
Appointment Info
What is your availability like?
I work Tuesday-Saturday 11am-6pm.
Week day appointments are usually available within one to two weeks. Saturdays are sometimes booked up to two months out.
If you are on a time crunch, please call or text the Wonderland shop phone for a more prompt response.
How do I book a tattoo with you?
Fill out the proper form for the type of tattoo you’re requesting.
I will reach out to you within a week, sometimes two depending on how busy my schedule is. For custom tattoos, be prepared to book a consultation. For flash tattoos, be prepared to book your appointment.
A $100 non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit is due at the time of booking (immediately for flash, at the consult for customs.) This holds your appointment slot and comes off the final cost of your tattoo.
Consultations
Consultations are short 15-20 minutes appointments intended for you to tell me what you’re looking for in your tattoo and answer any questions I have.
Things to prepare before for your consultation: a coherent idea, all the elements you want included in your tattoo, several reference photos for subject matter and style (bonus points if they are of my own work!)
I strongly prefer in-person consults and find they are the best way for me to understand your vision and get us on the same page. Zoom consults are offered for those traveling from outside the Portland area if needed.
How much will my tattoo cost?
My rate is $200/hr of tattoo time with a $150 minimum. Size, placement, color and complexity of design all influence the price of a tattoo. I cannot make estimates for custom tattoos before a consultation.
If you have a budget, I am happy to design the tattoo with this in mind or break it up into multiple sessions that you can afford!
What payments do you accept?
Cash is absolutely preferred, but I can take cards and other forms of digital payment as well (PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, CashApp.)
What is your cancellation policy?
Please notify me at least 24 hours before your appointment if you need to cancel. You must reschedule within 6 months to keep your original deposit.
If you reschedule beyond six months from your original appointment or reschedule more than once, I require an additional $100 deposit.
Changing your mind after paying the deposit does not warrant a refund. That $100 pays for the time I spend coordinating with you, drawing and holding an appointment space that could have otherwise been filled.
Tattooing Info
What do you like to tattoo?
Styles and imagery I’m inspired by are: folk art, traditional/neo-traditional tattoos, ornamental tattooing, blackwork, and illustrative black and grey.
I love solid lines, bright or vintage palettes, curvy flourishes, funky/stylized flowers, “trippy” subject matter (eyes, rainbows, mushrooms, portals.)
If you are booking a custom tattoo, I suggest browsing my Available Designs and Past Works to see my drawing style. I do my best work when working within my own style and skillset.
What won’t you tattoo?
I am uninterested and unable to tattoo: realism, watercolor or designs with no black outline, highly complicated or painterly designs, culturally inappropriate designs, or hateful language/imagery of any kind.
If you are looking for “Wonderland style” florals, I am not the guy for you. Do not book a tattoo with me in the hopes that I will emulate someone else’s work—whether they are at my shop or another one.
Will you cover up/retouch/rework tattoos done by another artist?
For coverups, yes, but on a case by case basis. I am still learning and will only take on projects that I think I can execute well.
If your original artist is still working and accessible to you, it is generally best practice for you to go back to them to touch up their work. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable going back to the original artist, I will touch-up or re-work someone else’s tattoo if I feel comfortable doing so within my skill set.
Can I see my drawing before our appointment?
No. I will not send a drawing in advance for any reason. You will see the drawing at your appointment. Reasonable changes can be made the day of, but major changes or alterations to the design will require rescheduling your appointment to give me time to draw a new design.
The consult is where you should be giving me ALL the details that are important to your tattoo. Please be clear and direct about your expectations. I am not a mind reader and genuinely want to create a tattoo that you will love.
Touch Ups
I offer free touch ups for all tattoos within a year. Some tattoos I may even request & schedule you to come in for a touch up (also free.)
Things that can nullify a free touch up: numbing cream altering the texture of your skin or healing process of the tattoo, negligent aftercare (swimming/soaking before it’s healed, picking scabs off your tattoo, infection due to improper healing practices, etc.) or at fault accidents that damaged your tattoo.
Numbing Cream
If you plan to use numbing cream, you must notify me before the appointment so I can be prepared & aware.
When using numbing cream, please follow the instructions and generally don’t leave it on for more than an hour before that tattoo. Numbing creams that are too strong or left on for too long can change the texture of your skin or adversely affect your health.
Please use responsibly!
List of no-nos that could result in losing your deposit or being refused service.
I have zero-tolerance policy for tattooing intoxicated people. If you show up intoxicated or become intoxicated during the appointment, you will be asked to leave immediately and I will not work with you in the future.
Rude, offensive language or behavior, directed at me or anyone else in the shop will not be tolerated. I foster a safe, comfortable environment and expect my clients to do the same.
Showing up to your appointment over 15 minutes late with no notification to either me or the shop. Please text, call or email ahead.
Showing up sunburnt, hungover or otherwise not in a state to be tattooed. Please arrive fed, watered, with a valid ID and payment ready.
Bottom line, be kind, respectful and treat your appointment as the professional interaction it is.
